| El Canelo Ranch has been in continuous ownership and operation by Monica's family for over 125 years. For the past 20 years Monica and Ray Burdette have opened up their home and their ranch to guests anxious to enjoy memorable outdoor experiences in luxurious surroundings. Bird watching on this pristine South Texas ranch is phenomenal, with over 300 species of birds on the unofficial ranch bird list. Customized hunting packages also available, including whitetail deer, nilgai, quail, dove, wild boar, and javelina hunts. The Inn has five elegantly decorated guests rooms each with at least two double beds and private bath. WiFi available throughout. Overnight stay includes supper on night of arrival, breakfast on day of departure, all three meals on middle days of multiple-night stay, and access to the ranch for nature-related activities, such as bird watching, nature photography, and walking. Private tennis court also available for guest use. The most memorable part of being a guest of The Inn at El Canelo is undoubtedly the fine cuisine. Monica's attendance at cooking schools abroad and here in the USA has given her skills that allow her to personally prepare delectable meals for her guests. It would be hard to say if your favorite will be her "South-Meets-Southwest Eggs" for breakfast, her "Nilgai Chalupas" for lunch, or her "Pork Loin with Pecan Brandy Sauce" for supper.
